Biostatistics is the application of statistics to understanding of health and biology. It includes collection of data, analyzing data, data interpretation and generating summary reports. The evidence-based medicine is now entering a new phase in which the role of biostatistics will be even more important. The multi-disciplinary teams of health researchers now commonly incorporate biostatisticians.
