THE 5TH INTERNATIONAL FORUM OF PEDIATRIC

Surgeons of Russia and the 1st Russian-Chinese Congress of Pediatric Surgeons were held in Ufa, Bashkortostan on September 3-5, 2019. Both events were dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the foundation of the Republic of Bashkortostan, the 55th anniversary of establishing pediatric surgery service in the Republic, and the 50th anniversary of the Pediatric Surgery Department at Bashkir State Medical University.
On September 4, during the symposium titled Surgical Aspects in Management of Pediatric Patients with Short Bowel Syndrome, Mikhail Isakov, Head of Endocrinology Division, Aston Health, presented a report “Registry of Children with Intestinal Failure: Real-World Use in Clinical Practice”. He presented key features of the Registry and described its capabilities.
The events were attended by over 400 participants from various regions of Russia, the Baltics and the CIS countries, as well as from Germany, U.S. and China.
The most relevant and current aspects of pediatric surgery were discussed by the clinicians, including: thoracic surgery, neonatal surgery, rehabilitation and health resort treatment for pediatric patients, etc. Altogether, 170 reports, 16 symposiums, several workshops and training sessions were available to the guests during the events.
