SCREENING AND DIAGNOSIS OF DIABETES IN THE KRASNODAR REGION

From September 30 to October 10, 2019 the Endocrinology Research Center (ERC) in collaboration with Aston Health and Novo Nordisk conducted a screening program for Diabetes in the Krasnodar Region.

The endocrinology specialists were able, using the recources of the Diabet-Center mobile diagnostic office (Dia-Mobile) to examine over 300 diabetic patients. Initially most of these patients were screened in 2005 using the same technology and now they were invited for re-evaluation. The screening was performed at the Regional Hospital #2.

Note*The early diagnosis and prevention of diabetes and its complications has been and still is a pressing concern for Russia. Based on the data from the National Registry of Diabetes currently there are over 182 thousand diabetic patients in the Krasnodar Region. To address this public health problem the joint efforts of the government, the medical community, socially responsible business, NGOs and patient organizations are required.
