On May 19, 2018, Kaliningrad hosted an “Art of Shaping the Future” conference arranged by Roche (Roche Diagnostics Rus), dedicated to improving of laboratory diagnostics in Russia.

The conference was attended by over 50 head physicians and heads of diagnostic laboratories. Among the speakers were representatives of Aston Health, Helix and Invitro.

The participants discussed the uptake of lab diagnostics projects, such as developing a centralized service for lab diagnostics across the regions, the impact of new diagnostic approaches (e.g. anticoagulation offices) on patient outcomes and disease burden, implementation of innovative technologies and the overall outlook for laboratory medicine.

Sofia Demura, Medical Director of Aston Health, presented a report “Laboratory Diagnostics in the Context of Patient-Centered Care”, where she focused on the use of HTA methodology for evaluation of various lab diagnostic techniques.
