ASTON HEALTH AT THE OPENING OF THE CENTER FOR INNOVATIONS AND INTERNET OF THINGS IN HEALTHCARE IN SKOLKOVO

On October 22, 2019, a Center for Innovations and IoT in Healthcare (HIIC)* created by AstraZeneca  and Skolkovo Foundation was opened in Skolkovo during the Moscow International Forum for Innovative Development.

The opening ceremony was attended by Veronika Skvortsova, the Minister of Health, Sergey Tsyb, First Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade, Arkady Dvorkovich, Chairman of the Skolkovo Foundation,  Alexey Repik, Chairman of the Board of Directors of R-Pharm Group , Irina Panarina, CEO of AstraZeneca Russia and Eurasia, the MoH Chief Specialists and members of local and international business community.

The Center offers a new format of introducing innovative technologies for various therapeutic areas.

 

The National Registry of Diabetes was one of the integrated digital solutions for improving diabetes care demonstrated to attendees. Prof. Marina Shestakova, MD, PhD, Deputy Director of Endocrinology Research Center (ERC) and Anton Artyomov, CEO of Aston Health presented to Veronika Skvortsova the Program for Clinical and Epidemiological Monitoring of Diabetes. The Minister acknowledged the importance of the efforts already made and pointed out that the project should be further developed and extended. The project has been designed and is being implemented by Aston Health in collaboration with ERC since 2013.

*In June 2019, a memorandum on creation of HIIC was signed at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum by AstraZeneca, the Skolkovo Foundation, Nokia, QIAGEN, Radiotherapy Equipment Factory (R-Pharm Group), Russian Post and Sberbank.  During the Forum for Innovative Development, GE Healthcare and VimpelCom (Beeline) announced they would join the project as partners.
