This year, at the MAPS Congress held in Amsterdam a number of prominent speakers, including, Gavin Jones, Director of Orphan Diseases at Open Health, Alexandra Safronova, MD, PhD, Medical Director of Aston Health, and professor Peters Rutherford, Vifor Pharma Global Orphan Disease Medical Division, focused on organizing effective interactions and building partnerships with various patient advocacy groups. It was a joint understanding that positive engagement and partnership with patient organizations contributes to improved clinical outcomes and actual benefits for patients. For example, the recommendations and input from patients is a valuable part of designing Clinical Patient Registries and PSPs.
